Role overview
Our client is a top-tier international law firm with a premier funds practice globally. The firm is hiring a senior associate to join its onshore funds team in Abu Dhabi, working across fund formation, structuring, regulatory and corporate matters for a client base that includes sovereign wealth funds, regional asset managers and international financial institutions. The Abu Dhabi funds market continues to grow as the emirate positions itself as a hub for asset management and alternative investments. The firm is at the centre of that growth and is looking for a lawyer who can manage complex fund structuring work with a high degree of independence while maintaining the technical standard the practice is known for.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on the establishment and structuring of onshore and regulated funds across ADGM and wider UAE frameworks
- Draft and negotiate fund formation documents including limited partnership agreements, subscription agreements and side letters
- Advise on regulatory authorisation and ongoing compliance for fund managers and funds under ADGM and SCA regulations
- Support institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and asset managers on fund investments and co-investment structures
- Advise on corporate and commercial aspects of fund transactions, including joint ventures and special purpose vehicles
- Coordinate with tax, regulatory and offshore counsel on cross-border fund structures
- Contribute to client development and the growth of the regional funds practice
Candidate profile
- Approximately 7 to 10 years' PQE
- Strong onshore funds background from a recognised international law firm
- Experience of ADGM, DIFC or wider Gulf fund structures is highly valued
- Familiarity with SCA regulations and UAE federal fund requirements is beneficial
- Comfortable managing complex transactions with minimal supervision
- Commercially minded with strong drafting skills and direct client-facing experience
