Role overview
An international law firm with a growing transactional banking practice in Dubai is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Banking and Finance team. The firm has made a number of strategic hires in the region over the past twelve months, including at partner level, and is building momentum across syndicated lending, acquisition finance and real estate finance in the UAE and wider Middle East. Work spans both conventional and Sharia-compliant structures.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage banking and finance transactions from start to finish, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating financing documentation
- Advise international and regional clients on syndicated loans, acquisition finance and real estate finance on both a conventional and Sharia-compliant basis
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and other advisers throughout transactions
- Draft and negotiate facility agreements, security packages, intercreditor arrangements and ancillary finance documentation
- Support partners with business development, client-facing activities and the continued growth of the practice in the region
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development through coaching and feedback
Candidate profile
- Common law qualified with 6 to 10 years' PQE in banking and finance
- Technically strong with hands-on experience drafting and negotiating facility agreements and security documentation
- From a recognised international law firm with a credible finance practice
- Experienced in the GCC or wider Middle East, or bringing strong cross-border finance experience from London or another major market
- Commercially aware with the confidence to manage client relationships and run transactions with increasing autonomy
- Interested in joining a firm in growth mode, with the opportunity to take on early responsibility
